Terms & Conditions for Baatein

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Baatein mobile app, operated by Psychra Private Limited (Sampat Sadan, Sardarshahar, Rajasthan, India — "we", "us", "our").
By downloading, installing, or using Baatein, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What Baatein is
Baatein is a free 1:1 chat app. You can send text messages, photos, videos, files, and voice notes to another person. Baatein is completely free — there are no paid plans, subscriptions, or in-app purchases. Every account gets 1GB of free storage for media and files, and the app is supported by ads (via Google AdMob).
Who can use Baatein
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Baatein.
- By using the app, you confirm you've read and agree to these Terms and to comply with applicable law.
- If you're using Baatein on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you have the authority to agree to these Terms on its behalf.
Your account
- You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep your login credentials confidential.
- You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time directly from the app: go to Profile → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm, since this can't be undone.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, misuse the app, or pose a risk to other users or the Service.
Acceptable use
You agree to use Baatein only for lawful purposes. You must not use the app to:
- Send spam or unsolicited messages
- Harass, threaten, or harm other users
- Share illegal, harmful, abusive, sexually explicit, or otherwise objectionable content
- Share copyrighted material without permission
- Spread malware or malicious software
- Impersonate another person or organization
- Engage in fraudulent or deceptive activity
We reserve the right to remove content or restrict access if we detect this kind of behavior.
Your content
You keep ownership of the messages, photos, videos, files, and voice notes you send through Baatein. By using the app, you give us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to operate and improve the Service — for example, to deliver your messages and enforce the storage limit.
You're responsible for making sure your content complies with these Terms and with applicable law.
Message and chat controls
Baatein gives you control over the messages you send and receive:
- Edit: you can edit a text message you've sent, as long as the recipient hasn't seen it yet.
- Delete for me: available on messages you've received. Hides the message from your own view only — the sender's copy is unaffected.
- Delete for everyone: available on messages you've sent, at any time, with no restrictions. Removes the message (and any attached photo, video, file, or voice note) from both your and the recipient's view. This can't be undone.
- Delete a chat: removes an entire conversation from your own chat list. Doing this deletes every message you personally sent in that chat, for both you and the other person — the same effect as using "Delete for everyone" on each of your own messages — and frees the storage used by your own media. It does not delete messages the other person sent: if they haven't also deleted the chat, they'll continue to see their own messages, so the conversation may appear one-sided on their end afterward. This can't be undone.
Reporting, blocking, and content moderation
Baatein has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behavior. Sharing content that is offensive, abusive, sexually explicit, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate is strictly prohibited.
We give you tools to:
- Report objectionable content
- Block other users
Every report is reviewed by our team. On receiving a valid report, we take appropriate action within 24 hours, which may include removing the offending content or suspending/terminating the responsible account. We reserve the right to act without prior notice if content violates these Terms or puts users or the platform at risk.
We don't pre-screen every message sent through the app, but we do actively moderate reported content. Since Baatein is a private 1:1 chat app, you interact with other users at your own discretion.
Privacy
Your use of Baatein is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect and how we use it.
Intellectual property
The Baatein app itself — its design, software, logos, trademarks, and features — is owned by Psychra Private Limited and protected by law. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reproduce any part of it without our permission.
Third-party services
Baatein uses third-party services, including Google Firebase (for backend infrastructure) and Google AdMob (for ads). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these or any other third-party services.
Ending your use of the Service
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the platform, or pose a risk to other users or the Service. You can also delete your own account at any time, as described above.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Psychra Private Limited is not liable for indirect damages, data loss, service interruptions, or the actions of other users. Your use of Baatein is at your own risk.
Disclaimer
Baatein is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Changes to the Service
We may modify, add, or discontinue features of Baatein at any time.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Baatein after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Rajasthan, India.
